Design, Media and their Tools, Կարինե Մացակյանի հոդվածի թարգմանությունը

In our society the words “design” and “media” are young enough as we could hardly throw off a 70-year-old Soviet street dullness and today we are walking in the same streets, which already have the above-mentioned words “design” and “media” in themselves materialization, somehow not so decent but progressive elements.

“Design” and “media” phenomenon invented in Armenia are very different from those of in any industrial country invented not by chance, but of necessity. In industrial country Design is assumed to fit the product to consumer, and Media provides the advertisement of the designed product. Of course both Design and Media came into use of people’s activities and every field of consumption such as politics, TV, education, mode of life, internet and so on.

Though our society is not an industrial one today, Design and Media came into our life first as a phenomenon and now, 20 years later- as a profession.

“Mkhitar Sebastatsi” Educomplex hasn’t been deprived of it, too. And as Design and Media sometimes are considered to be modern, demanding a lot of work, usually not having anything to do with material, little power-consuming professions the management of the Educomplex considered it necessary to bring to life those professions in the Educomplex.

The staff of the specialists always working with learners and teachers develops such an atmosphere which is favorable to the development of those professions. Providing with computers and corresponding syllabuses are considered to be the basic tools of Design and media.

Unlike our society, which acts according to the dictation of outer world and demands of consumer value, forming reverse design and media, there is well-grounded freedom of solving the demands of interior-exterior design.

In the Educomplex there are both the object of the design – the tool and the goal, and the condition of its realization. It develops perfect and creative condition and contributes to the formation of learner’s creative attitude.

At the same time it is not superfluous to mention the achievement of the staff of the educomplex in the fields of web-design and media. Today both the learners and the teachers implement different conceptions and  present them at competitions and in the site of the educomplex. Today there are  pottery workshops in the five branches of the educomplex, where the principles of modern decorative-applied arts are mastered.

The projects of interior-exterior design are worked out by the artists-designers of the educomplex or under their control. The projects are carried out by the artisan –masters, teachers and  learners of the educomplex as educational materials. It is also important to mention about the design of different events in the educomplex. They are good opportunities for the creative artists and learners to use all unusual skills and interesting creative means. As a result new openings appear and become a source  of inspiration for new creative work.
