  1. “That’s me…”: or  Saying Goodbye

High school is a bittersweet experience. With so much to look ahead, you do feel like you’ve been through tremendous experiences with people you truly love and care for. It marks a beginning to adult life, not completely though with oh so exciting to look forward to. The last dance and the last study hall … Senior year in high school is a long series of farewells, most of them highly emotional. Seniors’ most wrenching good-byes are usually their good-byes to friends. Although they swear to each other that they will stay in touch, the possibility that this is a final farewell is almost too much to bear.

So, it’s a great chance for the 12th graders to speak, to tell and to write. I would like you to choose senior class photos or videos to show your school acceptances, accomplishments in high school, or just memories through the years and create your virtual yearbook with your graduation speech or messages for your juniors or with music or whatever you want. I think your imagination is much better than mine.

How could people resolve conflicts instead of through war? Has anyone in your family ever fought in a war? or Are they fighting on the frontline now? Do you know anyone who is in the army, on the frontline or who has been? Tell me about him. Does war have any positive consequences for mankind, for Armenians? What do you think is the average age for soldiers in the world? What do you understand by the phrase “might is right”? What is a hero?
  4. Living life to the Full – Does the Internet help us live life to the full? In what ways does it help us. How does it prevent us?
  5. Is Honesty the Best Policy? Lying is bad for your health, according to an American psychotherapist. But telling the truth is tricky.
  6.  Personality Conversational starters –Our personalities are what the outside world uses to judge us and they greatly influence our interactions with others. So isn’t it worthwhile to have a conversation about something that holds so much sway over our lives?

Սիրոն միշտ գրում է․ I send you my homework. I am sending you my homework. I am writing to you.

Now I am explaining a new rule to you.

Dear Bagrat and Khachatur I am writing to tell you that you haven`t done your homework.

Am writing, am sending, am explaining – սրանք ցույց են տալիս խոսելու պահին կատարվող և ընթացքի մեջ գտնվող գործողություն, այսինքն իմ գործողությունը կատարվում է հենց այս նամակը գրելու ընթացքում։ Երբ իմ նամակը ստանաք, դուք կարող եք ասել՝ Մենք կարդում ենք ձեր նամակը հիմա։ – We are reading your letter now.

Այսպիսով՝ այս ժամանակաձևը կազմվում է to be օժանդակ բայի խոնարհված (Am, is, are) ձևերով և բայի չորրորդ հիմքով (+ing).

I am writing. We are writing.

You are writing. You are writing.

He is writing. They are writing.

She is writing. They are writing.

It is writing. They are writing.

Am I writing? Are we writing?

Are you writing? Are you writing?

Is he writing? Are they writing?

Is she writing? Are they writing?

Is it writing? Are they writing?

I am not writing. We are not writing.

You are not writing. You are not writing.

He is not writing. They are not writing.

She is not writing. They are not writing.

It is not writing. They are not writing.

I play basketball every Sunday.

I am playing football now.

She eats fruit every day.

She is eating an apple now.

We go to the cinema every Sunday.

We are going to the park now.

How do you deal with your problems?
What problems do you come across in your school or life?
Do you feel that problems are opportunities? Why or why not?
What was the last problem you solved and how did you do it?
“Problems don’t matter. Solutions do.” Do you agree or disagree?

To play – played – played – playing
To work – worked – worked – working
To go – went – gone – going
I go to school at 8 o`clock.
He speaks English at the lesson.
They often go to the park after the lessons.
Այս ժամանակաձևը / Present Simple/ կազմվում է բայի առաջին հիմքով / To play, To work, To go.../ առանց to մասնիկի և առանց վերջավորության, բացառությամբ եզակի թվի, երրորդ դեմքի՝(he, she, it) որտեղ բայը ստանում է s կամ es վերջավորությունը:

I play
you play
he plays
she plays
it plays
we play
they play
չենք մոռանում - /s/ he, she, it plays.
do I play ?
do you play ?
does he play ?
does she play ?
does it play ?
do we play ?
do they play ?
I do not play. I don't play
you do not play.	you don't play
he does not play.	he doesn't play
she does not play.	she doesn't play
it does not play. it doesn't play
we do not play. we don't play
they do not play.	they don't play

Now do these exercises
1. I usually (go) to school.
2. They (visit) us often.
3. You (play) basketball once a week.
4. Tom (work) every day.
5. He always (tell) us funny stories.
6. She never (help) me with that!
7. Martha and Kevin (swim) twice a week.
8. In this club people usually (dance) a lot.
9. Linda (take care) of her sister.
10. John rarely (leave) the country.
11. We (live) in the city most of the year.
12. Lorie (travel) to Paris every Sunday.
13. I (bake) cookies twice a month.
14. You always (teach) me new things.
15. She (help) the kids of the neighborhood.
